Background
Shay & Blue is a boutique perfumery based in London’s Marylebone. Palmiero Design was assigned to update the fragrance product boxes and bottles packaging design of over 30 product items, including boxes, box bands and bottle labels.
The smallest items are 2ml sample vials, which are given away as “freebee” samples. The main product range includes 10ml bottles enclosed in lightweight cartons, plus 30ml and 100ml bottles, cocooned neatly inside more luxurious rigid boxes.
Design Solution
The packaging design was refreshed by improving the layout of text information and individual assets. Cleaner, more legible fonts were used to cope with the restricted space available.
In a move towards more environmentally friendly packaging, the new packaging designs are now specified for printing using 100% recyclable materials and finishes. The entire colour range was carefully re-calibrated to allow for printing on uncoated stock. All forms of lamination have been discontinued to aid recyclability.
